CoverCath™ is:

  • Designed for or patients with a Hemodialysis catheter, Central Lines, Peripherally inserted Central Line (PICC), Peritoneal Dialysis catheters, feeding tubes, antibiotic IV lines, Peg tubes, Chemotherapy catheters, and Infusion catheters.
  • Designed for showering and bathing
  • Disposable and for single use
  • Intended for use in the home
  • NOT designed for swimming, diving, jumping into water, whirlpools and hot tubs.
  • Each box contains 10 covers
CoverCath™ is a plastic non-porous bag sealed on all four sides designed for patients with a hemodialysis catheter, central line, or peritoneal dialysis catheter. It has a hole cut on one side with a double-sided hypoallergenic tape attached to the bag completely surrounding the hole. The catheter is inserted into the hole and the second side of the adhesive tape is attached to the skin creating a watertight seal. CoverCath™ is designed as a disposable product that allows patients to bathe or shower without contamination of the catheter area.

Who developed CoverCath™?

CoverCath™ was developed by Christopher Po M.D. and Gunner Beery. They wanted to develop a product that would provide Patients with catheters the ability to resume a more normal lifestyle and provide a greater freedom to perform personal hygiene at their discretion.

Dr. Po Completed his training in Internal Medicine and Nephrology at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia. He continues to practice Nephrology in South Carolina and is currently a Managing Partner with CGB Enterprises, LLC, the developer of CoverCath™ and CoverCath IV™.

Gunner Beery Graduated in 1971 from St. Louis University with a BS in Aeronautics. He has been an innovator in the business community in both the staffing and software industries. He runs a successful staffing company and is currently a Managing Partner with CGB Enterprises, LLC, the developer of CoverCath™ and CoverCath IV™.

What is the difference between CoverCath™ and CoverCath-IV™?

The major difference is that CoverCath-IV™ is NOT for full immersion in water.

Is CoverCath™ covered by Medicare or Private Insurance?


At this time CoverCath is not covered by Medicare or other government plans. You would need to check with your insurance carrier to see if your plan will cover it.
